The Cue Rack

So maybe Eddie Felson did hustled here in the '60s. But once, on a rainy Saturday afternoon, I thought I saw
Cody Pomeray's 1947 shadow lurking near the cue rack -  taking quiet notice amid the click and clatter and
chalky blue squeaks.
This ain't Ames' mister -  and there ain't  no bar, no pin ball, no bowling alley - just pool.
A few life sounds, once heard, never ever leave you. The low rumble of a distant Harley, the rustle of silk on soft
skin, the solid door slam of a '55 Cadillac and the crack of a cue ball on the break.
